My name is Davit and I am from Armenia but have been living in the United States for almost 10 years. Growing up in my home country was vastly different from life here and I made a decision to make a change for my life and started my work as a volunteer for this great organization. I made memories that I will never forget and met people that I will cherish in my heart for the rest of my life.
Among the many things that SPITAK did, most of the work that I volunteered for was for their search and rescue team. I never had any experience in the work before I started volunteering but after a couple days of training, I knew I had found the change I needed in my life. Not so much the actual skills that it took to pull off rescue missions, but the feeling of genuine gratitude that we were met with on every mission is something that I cannot describe. It was deeply saddening at times, but it was the nature of the work and it was worth doing.
I hope that I can teach some of you out there through some of my experiences with volunteering back in Armenia and if there is anything you would like to know about me or my experiences volunteering for this amazing organization you can reach me at my contact page.
